Kwara Govt supports digital transformation agenda — Commissioner

The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its continued support for digital transformation which will in turn provide an economically viable and self-sustainable environment via digital literacy, youths empowerment, innovation and technology.

The State Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun stated this while meeting with Kwara Build Tech Community, in her office.

Hon. Damilola reiterated that the structural arrangement of the Ministry lies on business activities, boosting trade, creativity, innovation and technology to improve revenue generation in the State and assured residents and communities of meaningful investments that would be beneficial as well as position the State as a hub for tech talent and innovation on the global map.

She further disclosed that the State Government is harnessing its resources to provide an enabling environment for tech ecosystem and attract local and foreign investors.

The Commissioner added that the State government has invested heavily on capital projects such as Information, Communication, Technology and Innovation Hub beside Kwara Hotel, Sugar Factory Firm Studio at Ajase Ipo Road, Garment Factory at Airport Road, Ilorin International Conference Centre along Ahmadu Bello way, Shea Butter Processing Factory at Kaaima is nearly on completion stage, among others.

Hon. Damilola then implored the Team from Kwara Build Tech Community to officially register with the State Government for future collaboration.

Earlier, the Programme Manager, Kwara Build Tech Community, Mr. Ibraheem Zulkifhi, congratulated the Commissoner on her appointment and wished her a successful tenure in office, describing her appointment as a blessing to the State, youths, most especially, her expertise in ITech, entrepreneurs and care for women.

The Programme Manager claimed that the visit was aimed at facilitating and collaborating with the State Government on digital transformation agenda in accelerating the growths of innovation and technology as well as encourage the youths to acquire the skills needed for the modern global workforce which will enhance their future performances in workplaces.

Mr. Zulkifhi appreciated the efforts of the State government in creating enabling environment for businesses to flourish in Kwara State and the untiring efforts in building avenues for youths and women to explore.
